The Parker 61 is a true masterpiece of mid-century engineering, and the First Edition (introduced in 1956) remains a cult favorite among collectors.
While it looks similar to the famous Parker 51, it brought a radical innovation to the table:
the Capillary Filling System.
What sets this First Edition apart is its unique capillary filling system.
Unlike traditional pens with levers or plungers, the Parker 61 "drinks" ink on its own.
By simply unscrewing the barrel and dipping the Teflon-coated cell into an ink bottle, the pen draws up ink through capillary action—no moving parts, no mess, and no leaking.
Barrel: No crack or engravings to the body. Barrel jewel is there. Very nice arrow near the feed
Cap: Lustraloy cap and gold plated trim Cap jewel is there the first edition mention is at its place on the cap
Nib: Fine 14K gold nib
The pen is a capillary filler and has been flushed, although there was very little ink in the filler.
