Description:
The Parker 75 is a classic fountain pen made by Parker between 1964 and 1994. It was the mainstream premium pen during its period of production and was superseded in the 1990s by the Sonnet which remains in production today
Parker 75s came in a great range of fabulous finishes from the iconic Cisele (grid pattern made from sterling silver) through to several exotic lacquer finishes. This pen is a very rare Fougere version from the French Place Vendome collection of 75s in the 1980s, and was produced in France (where all high end Parkers are made today). It sports a vermeil (gold plated sterling silver) body with dished tassies, and an 18K gold nib. This 75 is one of the most premium finishes ever made, outside of the solid gold Presidential.
Condition:
Excellent ++: Very straight cap and barrel in beautiful condition with no significant scratches and no dents visible to the naked eye. It is reasonably tarnished with a natural patina from the underlying sterling silver, but I prefer to keep it this way than to polish it off, which eventually will wear away the gold plating. The gold ring at the end of the nib section is beginning to show some wear.
Nib:
18K fine F nib made in France.
Writing Feel:
Uses a squeeze converter (not supplied) or cartridge. Writes a true Western extra fine/fine with some light feedback as expected for a fine nib. Generally firm with a hint of spring, and a medium flow. Great pen for extensive daily writing.
Dimensions:
Length 128mm. Weight 23g
