This pen is a Doric, from a line Taccia offered for almost ten years, from 2007 until at least 2015. It is a big pen, 5 1/2" long capped and 5/8" wide below the cap edge. It is made of acrylic resin in long streaks of purples, thus its name of Tyrian Purple. Its barrel has a long sloped shape down to the base of the barrel and half as far down to the end of the cap, so is quite attractive. For those who like their pens a bit heavier, the Doric weighs in at 42 gm without ink, so holds its size well. The gripping section is unusual, a chromed knurled alloy which is very attractive. Finally, the clip has a faux pearl embedded into its surface, a touch I've not seen before. This pen's nib, which might be a replacement, is unmarked but appears to be JoWo, and it writes a full medium. The pen has seen use, but very little; it was completely cleaned and shows no wear. Very nice pen for a larger hand!
