Up for sale from my personal collection is a magnificent 1930s Onoto "The Pen" in stunning Marbled Red/Pink & Black Celluloid, crafted in England by Thomas De La Rue & Co. Ltd. London.
Completely overhauled with new plunger washer seals and silicone grease; shut-off safety valve functions flawlessly with strong suction. Tested with ink on Rhodia paper. The original 14K gold nib glides with a cushioned, velvety feel and expressive natural flexibility.
Thomas De La Rue & Co. was world-famous as Britain's leading banknote printer. Patented in 1905, the Onoto plunger filler with its revolutionary shut-off valve sealed ink completely inside the barrel, making it leak-proof during air or train travel. Sir Winston Churchill famously relied on Onoto plunger pens throughout his political career and WWII.
