The Montblanc Noblesse S-Line 1157 is a slender and elegant vintage fountain pen from a period when slim metal writing instruments were particularly fashionable.

Part of the Noblesse family, the 1157 combines minimalist German design with the refinement expected of Montblanc. Its narrow cylindrical profile is finished with finely engraved longitudinal pinstripes, giving the metal surface a subtle texture while maintaining the understated appearance characteristic of the series.

This particular example features a bright silver-coloured finish complemented by the Montblanc emblem inset into the finials.

The pen is fitted with a 14K Fine gold nib and uses a cartridge/converter filling system.

As original converters suitable for these vintage Noblesse models are becoming increasingly difficult to source, this pen has been carefully fitted with a compatible Waterman converter. The converter fits securely and has been fully tested with the pen, with no leakage or functional issues.

This example is in very good vintage condition.

The pen has been carefully inspected, cleaned and tested. The pinstripe pattern remains well defined and the finish retains a good lustre.

A compatible Waterman converter has been fitted and tested. It operates correctly and securely, with no leaks observed during testing.

There are light surface marks and signs of previous use consistent with its age. The Montblanc emblems remain present at both ends of the pen. Any significant imperfections are shown in the photographs.

Every vintage pen sold by Pentsugi is individually inspected and tested before listing. Where restoration has been necessary, the aim is to preserve as much of the pen's original character as possible while returning it to reliable writing condition.

The Noblesse 1157 represents a very different chapter of Montblanc design from the familiar Meisterstück. Its exceptionally slim proportions, pinstriped metal construction and 14K gold nib capture the streamlined aesthetic of the period.

Original converters for these pens are increasingly difficult to find. Rather than supplying the pen without a converter, a compatible Waterman converter has been fitted and tested for reliable everyday use.

As with all vintage writing instruments, minor signs of age and previous use should be expected. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
