The engraving "JFK" on its clip corresponds to his initials, the 3 platinum rings on its cap represent his brothers, and the marks on the body of the pen are references to the rest of his family. His military career is reflected in the star on the cone: inspired by the insignia of the US Navy. There is also a moonstone at the top of the cap, which evokes the "Apollo" space project that he himself launched. Lastly, the slogan of his campaign "A time for greatness" has been engraved on the ring. The design also reminds us of his favorite pastime: sailing.
