The Autumn Groves

A leaf-like pattern appears on the pen, with its spaces filled with glossy black in between varying shades of brown and a touch of orange. The Kaleido Autumn Grove Fountain Pen represents both autumn wonders and Wancher's 14th Anniversary in southern Japan, where Wancher was founded.

The KALEIDO special shape

The JAPAN Kaleido fountain pen possesses a different look from the familiar cylinder shape usually found in other Wancher models. The 12 straight edges represent our great inspiration in symbolic Japanese beauty such as the beautiful sun rays, cedar trees, or pillars in traditional infrastructure. With this distinctive 12-sided prism shape and an ultimately smooth finish, it inspires us with the name KALEIDO - which comes from the Greek word "Kal" - beautiful and "eidos"- shape.

To create the JAPAN Kaleido fountain pen, our craftsmen have hand-cutting high-quality hard resin and polish it multiple times. The finished product is a mesmerizing shape composed of straight lines and finely waved edges. As you hold the pen, take a moment to look at it closely and enjoy the glowing shine along the marbled surface of the 12 sides and the exquisite comfort it brings.

Wancher`s Jowo Broad Nib 

The Wancher Jowo Broad nib is a Jowo #6 stainless steel nib designed for a bold, expressive writing line. The Broad point provides noticeably more ink coverage than Fine or Medium nibs, making it particularly suitable for signatures, headings, larger handwriting, and writers who enjoy seeing more ink on the page.

The Broad configuration has a smooth and substantial writing feel, with the larger tipping area providing a generous contact point with the paper. It is designed primarily for consistent everyday writing rather than flex, offering a dependable line with normal writing pressure.

Wancher uses the Jowo #6 stainless steel nib across a number of its fountain pen models. Wancher’s nib guide also notes that its Jowo nibs generally produce a broader line than some of Wancher’s own nib offerings at comparable nominal sizes, reflecting the difference between European and Japanese-style nib sizing.
