This pen was sold on July 2023, It has been used however it is still in mint condition. There is no wear and tear on the pen (at least seen through the naked eye). The Pen is made out of ebonite and is the biggest model. 

(Pen Description)

The Eboya Houga (Large) – Black is a handcrafted Japanese fountain pen made from ebonite, produced by Nikko Ebonite Manufacturing in Tokyo. The Houga has a clean, cigar-shaped profile with no clip, giving the pen a simple and streamlined appearance. The name “Houga” (萌芽) refers to a “sprout” or “germination,” reflecting Eboya’s concept of bringing something new through its fountain pens.

The black ebonite body has the warm, distinctive feel associated with traditional hard rubber. Eboya produces its own ebonite and carefully shapes and polishes the components by hand in its workshop. The material has a different tactile character from modern resin, with a smooth surface and a comfortable feel in the hand, particularly during longer writing sessions.

As the Large version, the Houga measures approximately 150 mm when capped, with an 18 mm cap diameter and 18 mm barrel diameter, giving it a substantial full-size profile. The clipless design keeps the silhouette uninterrupted from the cap through the barrel, while the rounded cigar shape gives the pen a balanced and straightforward appearance.

The Houga Large uses an international-standard cartridge/converter filling system and is fitted with a Bock #6 14K gold nib, available in Fine, Medium Fine, Medium, and Broad configurations. The combination of a substantial ebonite body, simple clipless design, and hand-finished construction gives the black Houga a traditional yet understated Japanese character.

The Eboya Houga (Large) is fitted with a Bock #6 14K gold nib in a Medium Fine (MF) configuration. Eboya lists the Large Houga with a Bock #6 14K gold nib and offers Fine, Medium Fine, Medium, and Broad point options.

The 14K gold construction provides the nib with good corrosion resistance and a degree of natural resilience. It is designed for controlled, consistent writing rather than being a flex-oriented nib, giving the writer a stable writing point with a responsive feel under normal writing pressure.

The Medium Fine point sits between a Fine and Medium width, making it a versatile choice for everyday writing. It provides more ink presence and smoothness than a very fine point while remaining sufficiently narrow for detailed handwriting, notes, and general correspondence.

The Bock #6 format is appropriately proportioned for the substantial 18 mm Large Houga, giving the pen a balanced appearance and a substantial writing point. Together, the 14K gold construction and MF configuration provide a practical combination of precision, smoothness, and controlled line width.
