The Parker Maxima Duofold is the absolute monarch of Parker’s British lineage. While American models shifted toward the futurism of the Parker 51, the British perfected the classic "flat-top" shape to create an instrument of sovereign robustness and elegance.
The No. 50 Nib : The centerpiece of this Maxima is its imposing 14k gold nib, engraved with the number "50." This is the largest nib ever produced by Parker UK. Its massive gold surface offers incredible writing smoothness and a perfectly regulated ink flow, ideal for important signatures.
The "Chevron" (Herringbone) Band: A supreme mark of distinction, the cap features a wide gold band with a chased chevron pattern. This decor was reserved strictly for prestige models (Maxima and Senior), immediately setting it apart from more modest models like the Junior or Slimfold.
Condition & Specifications: Size: An imposing size, measuring approximately 14.5 cm capped.
Overall State: Excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, or breaks.
Finish: The body and cap are made of high-gloss black resin in perfect condition. Imprint: The "Parker Maxima Duofold" inscription is clearly visible, including the number "6". While dating these models is often debated (1956 or 1966), I lean toward 1956.
The Nib: Truly magnificent, long, and original with the "50" marking. This number is an exclusive code used by Parker UK for the largest and most prestigious nib in the Duofold line. Medium size, very good writer
