The "Originals of their Time" Collection, celebrates the classic Pelikan 100 models of the 1930s.

The Pelikan 100 models, were the fountain pens that carried the piston mechanism, and popularized the Pelikan brand.

Released in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Originals of their Time included a total of 5 variations of the Pelikan 100, all executed in highly limited editions:

- 1997: 1931 Gold, a limited edition of 5000 numbered fountain pens

- 1998: 1935 Green, a limited edition of 4000 numbered fountain pens

- 2000: 1931 White Gold, a limited edition of 1931 numbered fountain pens

- 2001: 1935 Blue, a limited edition of 1935 numbered fountain pens

- 2003: 1931 Toledo, a limited edition of 1100 numbered fountain pens

The 1931 Toledo edition has a sleeve decorated in Toledo style covering its barrel. The decoration presents pelikans, naturally, a theme upon which Pelikan often dwells. What sets this model apart from the rest of the pens in this series is the clip, decorated with an engraved elongated Pelikan. The pen incorporates the piston filling mechanism, and is equipped with a vintage-style 18kt gold nib.

The Pelikan Originals of their Time 1931 Toledo Limited Edition Fountain Pen comes in a dedicated giftbox, exclusive to the edition.

The pen listed here comes from a collector's reserve. It is preowned, but unused and is in overall mint condition. It comes with the wooden box created for the particular limited edition, with a number matching to the number of the pen, but without the box cover and the documents of this limited edition.
