The Parker 75 R.M.S. Queen Elizabeth is a commemorative edition of Parker's celebrated 75 fountain pen, presented as a tribute to the famous ocean liner R.M.S. Queen Elizabeth.
This particular example carries an oval plaque on the barrel engraved “R.M.S. QUEEN ELIZABETH”, together with a numbered cap band appearing to read 2366/5000.
The pen is housed in a substantial wooden presentation case lined in green, with a metal plaque depicting the Queen Elizabeth and recording key moments from the ship's history, including her launch in 1938, wartime troop service and eventual destruction by fire in Hong Kong Harbour in 1972.
The pen is fitted with a 14K Gold Medium nib and retains the Parker 75's distinctive adjustable nib assembly and ribbed grip section. It uses a cartridge/converter filling system and is supplied with its period Parker press-bar converter.
This example is in very good vintage condition.
The pen has been carefully inspected, cleaned and tested. The 14K Gold Medium nib writes correctly, and the original-style press-bar converter has also been checked for operation.
The textured finish remains attractive, with age-related patina, surface marks and signs of previous handling visible throughout. The gold-coloured trim and commemorative plaque similarly show some ageing consistent with the vintage nature of the piece.
The wooden presentation case is included and retains its green-lined interior and large commemorative metal plaque. The case and plaque show signs of age and storage, which are visible in the photographs.
Unfortunately, the original paperwork is no longer present.
Any significant imperfections are shown in the photographs.
Included:
Parker 75 R.M.S. Queen Elizabeth fountain pen
Period Parker press-bar converter
Original wooden commemorative presentation box
Original commemorative ship plaque
No papers
Every vintage pen sold by Pentsugi is individually inspected and tested before listing. Where restoration has been necessary, the aim is to preserve as much of the pen's original character as possible while returning it to reliable writing condition.
This is an especially interesting Parker 75 for collectors because the pen, numbered commemorative details and dedicated R.M.S. Queen Elizabeth presentation case remain together. While the accompanying paperwork is unfortunately missing, the surviving presentation makes this considerably more distinctive than a standard Parker 75.
As with all vintage writing instruments, minor signs of age and previous use should be expected. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
